Our Mission

Our social networking platform is rooted and established to provide support from peers from the truth that iron sharpens iron. We strive to inspire and guide athletes to reach new heights post-sports by fostering a network of individuals undergoing similar transitions. We are driven by impact which comes through connecting athletes to ease the transition from athletics to their professional careers and reach new heights, maximizing their professional success.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

A Message From Our Founder…

Twenty Seven Seventeen is founded by athletes, for athletes. We understand that sports are more than just exercise; they are a lifestyle, a career, a hobby, and often our first love. My name is Morgan Leigh Oldham, and I was beyond blessed with the opportunity to do gymnastics for 20 years, competing for none other than Auburn University. I started gymnastics at 2 years old and retired at 22. When they say “sports is life,” they mean it.

After graduating and retiring, I found that the transition out of sports was unlike any transition I’d ever been through. It was ultimately a very difficult adjustment. This brings me here. I created 2717 to provide a space that supports, guides, and cultivates community to ease the transition out of sports. Recognizing the profound impact sports have on our lives, it is my heartbeat to help others through my experiences and to pour into the lives of fellow athletes.

At 2717, we provide a space for athletes to connect with each other, share their experiences and stories, and provide support to promote a seamless transition from collegiate athletics to professional life after sport. Ultimately, we aim to help athletes create a plan to reach new heights post-athletic career.

2717 is founded on the principle of Proverbs 27:17: “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” We believe that through community, we can cultivate a culture of courage and greatness.
